I live here! This town is great fun.
SightsThe former Midland hotel at St. Pancras station is a wonderful piece of architecture. Downing street is the home of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Margeret Thatcher was so popular she had to put up gates guarded by policemen to stop people from coming up and saying how much they loved her ;-) Subseqent PMs kept the gates. Westminster Abbey has many famous people buried in it. Westminister Cathedrel is another lovely piece of brick architecture. |

ProtestsPeople often protest in London about things happening throughout the world. Saturday lunchtime in Trafalgar Square you will usually see some protest there - in this case against the arrest of of Adbullah Ocalan, the Kurdish separatist leader, by Turkey. |
Pride 1995Absolutely huge. |
|
Notting Hill CarnivalThis is a huge street party held every year by the Afro-Caribbean community. |

CroydonCroydon is quite nice sometimes. The weather is generally very mild, although we do get a handful of snowy days in Winter. |
|
My old gardenI liked my garden in spring, because the bluebells come up, and the Wisteria tree has beautiful blossoms. |

NightlifeThere are many pubs in London. Kudos in the West End had some interesting bouncers outside it a few years ago. They had solved the problem of doormen wearing ill-fitting suits in a novel way. I don't think this approach would work so well in Winter though. |
